🏖️ Planning your trip to Ayia Napa? Here's what you need to know before you go:

🛂 Visa & Passport

Cyprus is part of the European Union, so travelers from EU countries can enter with a valid ID card or passport. Visitors from many other countries can enter visa-free for short stays, but requirements may vary depending on your nationality.

We recommend checking the latest entry requirements with your local embassy or official government website before traveling, to make sure your passport and visa (if needed) are valid for your stay.

Travel insurance is not required to enter Cyprus for most travelers, but it is strongly recommended. Having insurance can help cover medical expenses, travel delays, or unexpected changes during your trip.

If you are visiting from an EU country, make sure to bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which allows you to receive basic medical care if needed. Visitors from other countries should check that their insurance covers healthcare abroad.

Ayia Napa has a warm Mediterranean climate with long sunny summers and mild winters. From April to October, you can expect plenty of sunshine, very little rain, and perfect weather for the beach. July and August are the hottest months, while spring and autumn are ideal if you prefer warm days with cooler nights.

We recommend bringing light clothes for the day, something warmer for the evening in early or late season, and of course swimwear — the sun is here most of the year.

The currency used in Cyprus is the Euro (€). Most places accept credit and debit cards, but it’s always a good idea to carry some cash for small shops, buses, or local businesses.

ATMs are easy to find in Ayia Napa, and currency exchange services are available in the center.

The official language in Cyprus is Greek, but English is widely spoken, especially in Ayia Napa and other tourist areas. Most people working in shops, restaurants, and hotels speak English, so communication is usually easy for travelers.

Cyprus has several public holidays during the year, especially around Easter and in the summer months. On these days, some shops, banks, and public services may be closed or have limited hours, while restaurants, bars, and tourist areas usually remain open.

If you are visiting during Orthodox Easter or major summer holidays, Ayia Napa can be busier than usual, with more events, local celebrations, and a lively atmosphere.

Cyprus follows Eastern European Time (EET), which is UTC +2 in winter and UTC +3 in summer during daylight saving time. The time change usually happens in late March and late October.

Ayia Napa is in the same time zone as Greece, Finland, Romania, and other Eastern European countries.

We’re here to make you feel at home before you even arrive. 💛
